About Penny Allport Penny Allport has been facilitating individuals and groups for over two decades through inquiry-based, process oriented explorations in Yoga, Continuum Movement, Continuum Montage, dream exploration, perceptual inquiry and writing. The originator of Painting from the Inside Out, a process-oriented painting exploration of self-discovery and integration, Penny welcomes any opportunity to restore the gifts of imagination and play as primary healers of the innate human capacity to love and be loved, and directly experience embodied divinity. Her deep curiosity and passion for embodied experience was seeded by a broken back at eighteen followed by several years of descent into chronic pain and disordered perception (including eating). Rearranging this pattern through integrative and embodied approaches has delivered her into the deep well of imagination the natural world offers, and a direct experience of the body’s place in the Great Universal Blooming. Penny is deeply grateful for the pioneering teachers, guides and mentors, whose work and influence is woven in the tapestry of her creative and integrative approach to life, including Sandra Sammartino, Joseph Lepage, Angeles Arrien (angelesarrien.com)Susan Harper (continuummontage.com)Emilie Conrad (continuummovement.com)Kevin Frank and Caryn McHose(resourcesinmovement.com)and Hubert Godard, Dr. Lynne Zetti & Edward Josephs, Canadian Foundation for Self Regulation Therapy (cftre.com) Penny's enduring appreciation in the experience of long term partnership, parenting and endless student in the heart and craft of relationship, goes to her partner of twenty-three years, John, and stepsons, Johnathan and Sean. Stewarded by six and a half acres of land on the Sunshine Coast, two equine guardians and a multi-dimensional feline familiar, has delivered Penny more deeply into the stewardship of the earth, through Permaculture practices, organic gardening and as a new tender of bees. This engagement with food sovereignty and a direct relationship with the cycles and rhythms of nature are expressed in every facet of her offerings. Penny owned and stewarded Serendipity's Backyard in Steveston Village, British Columbia for thirteen years, through it's early incarnation as an inspirational bookstore, into a community hub, yoga studio and resource center for personal and planetary healing and exploration. The store continues to thrive, now in business for almost twenty-five years. www.serendipitysbackyard.ca |
